You may have noticed that things are a little different around bennymoto.com. I’ve changed my servers (again…) after the last one had so many issues it only worked maybe 20% of the time and comments have been out for months. I had migrated hiyo.org from the same servers to this one a few months ago.

As with any server transfer, there are broken links galore - namely my excerpts on hiyo.org… which I will fix one day. Sorry for those ugly php errors.

As a sort of general update (and so I remember 8 minutes from now), this is what is up with Chris.

I’m in my fourth year of mechanical engineering at the University of Waterloo. I have something like 2 design projects, a research project, an essay (what? in engineering?), a few fluid power labs in 5 courses, and one bird course (law for engineers). I’ve been blogging extensively to studentlifecentre.com, which I’m enjoying. Averaging about 200 hits a day which is pretty damn nice, and encouragement enough for me to keep it going.

I’m also an exec on the UW Photo Club, helping to organize events and I’m still trying to determine what level of involvement will be for me in CUTC, UWFIT (a student think-tank group), Waste Management for UW Sustainability Project, Engineers Without Borders, Homecoming, the food bank and maybe even Junior Acheivement. When I look at all this, it really seems like I’m trying to kill myself, but I’m enjoying not having any free time and feeling overwhelmed constantly. I guess it’s just my way.

Writing for SLC.com invariably means that I know lot of what goes on on campus, which by extension means I actually know about events I’d be interested in participating in… which means I’m also running around campus almost every day with a full slate of employer infosessions, guest lecturers, festivals, expos, trips to renewable energy farms and what not. So when people ask me how the term is treating me, I usually say that I’m going crazy. I probably am a litte crazy.

I’ve been fortunate to have coaxable friends who will come out to Fed and Bomber meaning I get regular opportunity to let loose - and you should see, I do. Tonight it’s a road trip to Hamilton for a dinner with Stella and then back to the computer lab for some work. Seriously, once DC is open 24 hours I’ll probably not go home to sleep anymore.

Coming up: Oktoberfest, the largest Bavarian festival outside of Europe is in Waterloo every year, and I’ve actually never been before. So this year I’m calling my last chance. And UWPhoto is taking a road trip to Niagara Falls, which is pretty cool because we get to get on the attractions for free so long as we provide them with the photos we take throughout the day. Stir in some techie/entrepreneur conferences and weekly intramural basketball, and you’ve got a busy Chris. I gotta find some time to write these darn reports too.

I almost forgot… I’m already applying like a madman for full time when I expect to graduate in April. All these first week of October application deadlines! I’d better get cracking on that.

Long story short - you now have to book me 4-6 weeks in advance. Are you stressed after reading this?
