For once, I’m mentioning DC and it’s not for studying. I’m off to Washington DC. Visiting the siblings, and off to learn about Natural History, and see what Wonkette is getting all worked up about.
JEOPARDY! is looking for contestants from Toronto in April and May. He is the next Ken Jennings! Who is bennymoto!!!!!
Oh. There goes another school term. Back to Toronto! Vamoose!

The creators of Save Toby have an interesting, albeit unconventional and controversial way of getting you to donate money.
First: Make you (the reader) fall in love with Toby. He’s an orphaned rabbit, and really damn cute. I’m a sucker for flopped ears. He also has a refreshing outlook on life. Living each day in its moments and willingly accepting any future that comes before him.
Second: Tell everyone, unfortunately Toby the damned-cute bunny is going to die at then end of June, unless you do something to save him. If Toby’s owner does $50000 USD in paypal donations (not including 3.5% of paypal fees) and t-shirt sales, he will in fact kill Toby (at a butcher) and eat him for a nice meal.
Rabbit held hostage! Entire IntArwEb extorted! And it seems to be working. The website, around since February, is already at $24515 USD.
Ethical issues aside, this guy is totally onto something. Let me introduce bunnymoto (lowercaps initialled, “benny” for short”. He’s half micro-Morwegian dwarf rabbit, half regular Norwegian dwarf. He was born on October 30, 2004, loves bok-choy, rubbing his chin on you, and he’s all mine. He’s not a hopper so much as a skipper, small jumps with a heel-click. Quite cute. But as the days go by, bunnymoto is more and more cute, translated in my mind to more and more tasty-looking.
I’ve grown far too attached to the guy to turn him into a benny-stew and eat him myself, but I’m hoping to find a good home for him - someone else’ stomach.
My proposal: I will now be accepting donations. When I reach $50000 CDN in donated funds, I will personally have bunnymoto the main course of a massive bunny-themed feast.
The patron of this grand meal will be one person, selected at random, from my list of donors who have contributed at least $20 to this cause. An additional entry is $20. The winner will have a chance to meet and play with bunnymoto before the last meal, which I will catalogue and archive here on the bennybox.
Let the donations begin!
p.s. If you don’t agree with my hypothesis that cuter = tastier, try it yourself at home. Compare baby koala bear with aardvark. The difference is in their eyes.
I’m at DC, it’s the start of an all nighter, and I just ran out of iPod batteries! Save me!
I’ve been trying to get back into music. I love this song: John Legend - Ordinary People (Quicktime .mov).
So much so that I bought the album. Produced by Kanye, and I can tell i guess. It’s hip gospel and real easy listening.
The TTC strike is slated for Monday. TTC strikes suck.
Gorillaz have a new video. I might be a little late to the game on this one, but the video, as always is DOPE. Guest starring De La.
I miss the lipgloss assassin. She had one of the most refreshing and entertaining weblogs I’ve ever read (circa 2001). AWOL since 9/11.
Whoa… You are currently using 300 MB (15%) of your 2061 MB And here I thought I’d need to start erasing emails in two years.
*something-something* along the lines of it’s going to be a long day of study… but then DC Girl came. Things are looking up.
Is it just a dream to want to go to NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications program for grad school?… Yes.

Classes for me are finally over for yet another term. While friends are wrapping up the last lectures of their lives, graduation anxiety is settling in, a feeling that is a good full year displaced.
It’s not until the end of the week that exams start, so there’s a lot of wasting the days away that’s been going on lately. Yesterday we celebrated the birthdays of Christine (one of the roommates), and Eunmi (Stella’s floormate from frosh). They have the same birthday, later this week but we celebrated early so that drunkeness doesn’t get in the way of studying.
Stella and I spent a good portion of the day baking cupcakes and decorating them (as shown above). Later, after some ammaretto and sangrias, we headed out to what is one of many last Bomber nights of term.
There was no lineup when we got there, typical Bomber Saturday. But things got busy pretty soon and good times were had by all. The flickr photoset captures one of the many “Ugly 80’s outfits” being sported. I swear, if I didn’t go to Waterloo, I’d say I had never seen so many hideous sweaters in one place before.
The kids were mighty horny too. The grind is the new bump. A lot of dance-floor inappropriateness to say the least. And what was up with DJ Flash? All that soca and dance hall? This is Waterloo cubby. You won’t get far in this town if you ignore the rock anthems. Rock!
