Hi, I think we have a videogame addiction.

Scene: The GAP. Charlotte and I, like the advertising driven easily manipulated young consumers we are, decided to check out the newest Madonna/Missy Elliot Cord-Jeans that are supposedly some grand clothing innovation.

Chris: Hey, this is stupid. These are just cords! There’s no jean in this pant at all! Missy! You cheated me again! First the Adidas tracksuit, and now these damn form fitting Cord Pants!

Charlotte: Hrm… I think I like the brown or grey ones…

Charlotte’s cell phone starts beeping furiously!

Charlotte: Oh no! It’s six o’clock! I’m missing the furniture sale at Tom Nooks!

Chris: Oh crap, we’d better get home!

We scoot out of the mall like-minded. No corporate advertising can stop us at this point

Tom Nook is the store owner in the Cube game Animal Crossing. In the game, you just hang around in a town, plant flowers, befriend your townmates, run errands to earn money, and the most enjoyable part of the game: decorating your house however you want with various wallpapers, floors and pieces of art and furniture. The Cube clock keeps track of the date and time of day, and having missed Tom Nooks 50% furniture sale, we now need to wait until this time next year for furniture savings.

Just one of many instances of this game running my life. It’s seriously the crack version of videogames. Only slightly more addictive.

The only reason I have time to type this at all, is because I’ve distanced myself from my anchor, by giving the game disk to Charlotte. Now she’s addicted until she gets her own copy of the game and gives mine back. When I start severing myself from any human contact whatsoever, you’ll know when that’s happened.

Until then, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 is one damn hype game.

the review romp

From the creators of the Pantie Rantie (you killed the pantie rantie! you sunzabitches!), the hiyo.org forum, a whole bunch of mediocre to very entertaining weblogs, now brings you another link to put on your index page sidebar!

It’s the hiyo.org steamy review romp!

The hiyo.org cast will share their thoughts on movies, games, shows, music, or just about anything else they can be bothered to write about.

And the best part? Comments! You don’t agree with a review? Screw yourself! No wait, I mean post your own semi-review! Honest, I won’t delete your comments like I delete all the anti-chris propaganda that pops up here!

By the way, feel free to leave any suggestions you may have with my secretary.

And by “feel free to leave any suggestions you may have with” I mean, “don’t bother me while i’m boneing”!

these cold lonely summer nights

i really think that this page here could use a major overhaul. i’d really like to get a theme blog going here, because maybe when i sit down with the urge to type my mind out, something will actually come to mind.

it doesn’t seem likely, since writing is pretty much my weakest academic area. i think i should start catching up on the coles notes at the local library and culture myself up. goodness knows that would likely be the only way i’d ever learn what all those classic books were trying to tell me in high school.

what have i been up to? might as well fill y’all in. i’ve been working a lot. my back has been sore for weeks, and working every day and running errands on the weekends have given me little opportunity to rest. add to that the stress on me to write a work term report as a stupid co-op requirement (read: i hate writing, and i’m stressed out knowing i’ll never get it done on time). but i’m not complaining i guess. i’ve missed out on a couple chances to catch up with the old gang, but i’m going to try to plan a nice day at the CNE sometime in the next couple weeks.

i’ve also been trying to rest up any chance i get. saw American Wedding. It’s your typical horny-teen gross out movie. For a movie about a wedding, it was way too stifler heavy, though he had his moments. the gamecube has been keeping me good company. Zelda is an amazingly fun game. I really had no idea. i also spend many nights watching various vids on the comp. i’ll be quoting clone high for the next few weeks if you see me.

that’s it for now. miss y’all.
